World Music for Kids

Fridays at Noon (12:00pm) - June 10th-July 1st

Explore the music of cultures from around the world! Students will discover the history of instruments from different regions and dip their toes in a variety of cultures as they learn to craft homemade instruments and are introduced to the music they make! Each day, students will take home their new creations and gain new knowledge about their origins.

Summer Jazz Camp
June 13th-16th, 11:00-am-12:00pm


Come learn new ways to play your instrument at our jazz camp! We'll cover topics such as choosing the right notes to play when improvising and making your own music. We'll also have plenty of opportunities to jam and create together in groups, as well as to learn the jazz language and culture from some of the greatest musicians in history.

Stage Acting

June 13th-16th, 12:30-1:30pm

"All the world's a stage," according to William Shakespeare. And with that in mind, we have a great opportunity for you to learn more about how to own the stage of your life and your performances! Join us for this crash course on stage presence, acting, and characterization.

Beginning Group Ukulele

June 20th-23rd, 10:15-11:15am

Summer fun, jam sessions, rhythm basics, and learning an easy and super fun instrument!

Intermediate Group Ukulele
August 1st-4th, 1:00-2:00pm

For students who know how to tune their ukulele and are already able to transition smoothly between the C, F, and G chords. This camp will focus on additional strumming patterns, fingerpicking skills, additional chords (including bar chords), theory instruction, improvisation and arranging, rhythm skills, and singing practice!

Summer Singing and Songwriting

Summer Singing and Songwriting

June 20th-23rd, 3:00-4:00pm

Singing and songwriting are both great ways for people to find their own voice in the world. Life is full of joys and laughs, and also sorrows and hard times. Singing and songwriting can provide a powerful creative outlet to express emotions, tell stories, and voice opinions. In this camp students will be taught the basics of healthy vocal technique, sing songs, play music theory games, and learn how to write songs! Get ready to have some fun!

Music History Camp

Music History Camp explores music from the ancient world to the present day and will help students immerse themselves in music and knowledge from different periods. This camp allows students to experience the evolution of music throughout history, introducing them to new favorites in a fun, interactive way! Open to students of all ages, and at all levels.

Hymn Boot Camp

June 27th-30th, 1:00-2:00pm

Our Learn to Play the Hymns Bootcamp is the perfect summer activity for your piano student. This is an extremely beneficial class that uses technology and a unique process of sight reading that will jumpstart your student’s musical abilities! Throughout this course, your student’s confidence will grow as they play hymns and watch their sight reading skills improve. Various levels available. This camp will be open to students of all ages, including adults, but we recommend that students have at least one year of experience with piano lessons.

Music Theory for Beginners!

July 11th-14th, 10:30-11:30am

What is music theory? We once heard it defined as "the study of the practices and possibilities of music." Music theory is the study of what's possible! And anything is possible for your student if they have a strong foundation in music theory. Students will be immersed in basic concepts that will help them skyrocket their progress! Come review notes in treble and bass clef, the circle of fifths, and strengthen rhythm skills through fun games and interactive activities. Come explore the possibilities!

Summer Fiddle Camp

July 11th-14th, 12:00-1:00pm

This fun camp is perfect for any aspiring fiddlers! Get an Introduction to fiddle basics and learn to perform a song at your skill level, in plenty of time for pioneer day! Students will have the chance to showcase their new skills on the last day of camp In a final performance!

Summer Bluegrass Band

July 11th-14th, 2:00-3:00pm

This fun dive into the joy and fun of bluegrass is perfect for students who want to explore the unique energy of this genre and make music with others! Students will learn the basics of bluegrass, how to play with others, and more!

This camp will open to students of all ages who play violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, banjo, uke, mandolin, or piano. If you're interested and don't play one of these instruments, speak with our front desk staff!

Chamber Strings Camp

Mondays and Wednesdays - July 18th, 20th, 25th, and 27th - 10:30-11:30am

Is there anything more beautiful than a string quartet on a lovely summer day? We don't think so. That's why we are introducing our chamber strings camp for students who play violin, viola, cello, and bass! Duets, trios, quintets, and other arrangements may be formed according to enrollment and repertoire requirements. Each group will receive coaching as they prepare their pieces, and will have the option to perform in a small recital at the end of the week! All ages and instruments invited, but it is recommended that you have at least one year's experience on your instrument.

P.S. Pianists are also welcome, depending on repertoire requirements.

Calling all guitar, bass, keyboard, drum players and singers! There's a place for you in our Summer Rock Band Camp! Students will jam, record, and perform in a band with guidance and coaching from our experienced instructors!

Music Theory and Aural Skills Workshop

In our week-long theory workshop, you will learn skills that make your life SO much easier such as: Music notation, Chord identification, The Circle of 5ths, Theory games, and SO MUCH more! This camp is the perfect supplement to lessons over the summer! Enhance your understanding of the music you are already playing, prepare for any music you’d like to learn in the future, and strengthen your overall musicianship! Students will explore music theory basics in a fun group setting through games and practical application. This might be the single greatest camp you could take at BIMEC this Summer. Don’t miss out!
