SPENCER CARLSON

Woodwinds | Saxophone

Spencer has had a love for music all his life, and has experience playing saxophone, piano, clarinet, and flute. He began piano lessons at 7 years old, and in junior high he learned to play clarinet. Later in high school he picked up the saxophone, which remains his main focus and favorite instrument. He is currently a saxophone performance major at BYU, and has performed with BYU’s top jazz and classical ensembles, Synthesis and the Wind Symphony. He has studied saxophone with Ray Smith for the past several years, and especially has a love for jazz music. He is a strong believer that music is a crucial and indispensable part of life.
