Pro Tip: Introduce the ascending version first. Waiting to introduce the descending version until the student has mastered the ascending version at performance speed with correct fingering and proper technique will help minimize confusion and frustration. Feel free to teach all ascending versions for exercises 1-10 first, then revisit each exercise while introducing the descending versions this second time around. Or teach each exercise's ascending then descending versions before moving on to the next exercise.
