The Let's Play Music curriculum is organized into three sequential years. Entry age into the program is 4-6 years old. The first year, we use engaging games and songs and incorporate Tone Bells to teach staff awareness, ear training and rhythm reading skills. The second year, we transfer these skills to playing the piano where we also learn chord notation, intervals, and harmonic improvisation. By the end of the third year, students are playing piano at an early intermediate level, transposing music, composing their own music, sight-reading music, and are prepared to excel in further music instruction.

Let's Play Music (Ages 4-6)

Let’s Play Music is a music course for children that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading and ear training…all accomplished through play! Children start this program between the ages of 4-6.

This innovative curriculum will lead your child (entry age 4-6) from very basic music introduction using singing, ear training and simple instruments through a three-year piano program.

YEAR 1 - In the First Year, we use engaging games and songs using our Tone Bells to teach staff reading and rhythm reading skills. Our harmony instrument is the autoharp, which each student will independently play to produce harmony and accompany the class.

YEAR 2 - In the Second Year, we transfer these skills to playing the piano where we also learn chord notation, intervals, and harmonic improvisation.

YEAR 3 - By the end of the Third Year, students are playing piano with proper form, transposing, composing their own music, and are prepared to excel in further music instruction.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTION - Let’s Play Music BRIDGE is the next step for Let’s Play Music and Presto Graduates who want to continue total musicianship education with a piano focus.  Lily Hight, the owner of Best In Music, is the developer of this customized curriculum for Let's Play Music graduates. The official curriculum is available nationwide!  Let's Play Music graduates are perfectly primed to excel in their piano studies and the Bridge course will help them succeed!
