KATE TOUSA
Oboe
Kate is a Montana native and has been playing oboe for the last 12 years. When deciding between either the flute or clarinet, a band teacher suggested to try out the oboe. She was hesitant at first because she felt like it sounded like a duck, but after deciding on oboe she has never looked back!
Kate has participated in High School Allstate Band and Orchestra festivals, All Nationals at Disney World, BYU Summerfest, The Imani Winds Festival at Juilliard, and recently got invited to the Rocky Ridge festival. She has been a part of BYU’s premier traveling performance Wind Ensemble for the past two years, and has traveled and soloed in Portugal, Spain, and South Korea!
Kate is passionate about music in the community, and giving audiences individual, personalized experiences with music. She loves working with other arts disciplines to create interactive concerts that are engaging for all audiences! In her free time, Kate enjoys hiking, swimming, pickleball with her husband, and dreaming of when she will get her own dog!
