JEREMY CHRISTIANSEN

Saxophone, Clarinet

Jeremy Christiansen is a passionate and experienced music educator based in Orem, Utah. Originally from Pleasant Grove, Jeremy holds a degree in Music Education from BYU-Idaho, where he specialized in saxophone and served as a teaching assistant for the jazz program. He also led the university’s premier jazz ensemble, Sound Alliance, as its president.

With over 15 years of experience teaching private lessons and two years teaching at American Preparatory Academy, Jeremy brings a strong background in both individual and classroom instruction. He currently works as an education representative for Summerhays Music in Orem, connecting regularly with local educators and professionals in the music industry, including collaborators from Yamaha and Eastman.

Jeremy teaches saxophone, flute, and clarinet, and is expanding his skills on the trumpet. His teaching style focuses on solo and ensemble preparation, as well as jazz and improvisation, areas where he has extensive performing experience—including theater pit work and small group jazz.

Jeremy loves teaching because it’s fun and deeply rewarding. He especially enjoys those moments when a student "gets it"—when the light turns on and confidence grows. He believes music is the best subject because it builds connection, creativity, and joy.

When he’s not teaching, Jeremy enjoys building intricate Lego creations and spending time with his family.
