Beginning Group Ukulele Lessons:

For students 8 years old through adult who are just starting out on the ukulele. This semester (4-month) course includes 60 minute weekly lessons focusing on tuning, strumming and fingerpicking basics, chord transition, rhythm and singing practice.  The students will play and sing together as they improve their ukulele skills!

Intermediate Group Ukulele Lessons:

For students 10 years old through adult who know how to tune their ukulele and are already able to transition smoothly between the C, F and G chords. This semester (4-month) course includes 60 minute weekly lessons focusing on additional strumming patterns, fingerpicking skill building, additional chords including bar chords, theory instruction, improvisation and arranging, rhythm skills and singing practice.

Beginning 8 years - Adult
Intermediate 10 years - Adult
(Exceptions may be approved based on experience and ability)

Registration Fee: $25 BIMEC registration fee
Materials Fee: $15 Ukulele workbook/folder with music and worksheets
Tuition: $240 per semester (or $60 pmts x4)

Kodály Strings

A complete musicianship string program for violin, viola and cello students. Students attend a weekly private lesson along with a weekly group class. Levels 1-5. Level 1 entry age is between 6-10 years old.

Sound Beginings (age 0-4)

Sound Beginnings is education through musical play for babies and toddlers and a caregiver. Sound Beginnings prepares students for success in Let’s Play Music and in Preschool and Kindergarten!

Let's Play Music (age 4-6)

Let’s Play Music is a fun music theory course where children learn advanced concepts and skills using age-appropriate methods. This play-based curricula takes full advantage of the brain’s ability to absorb musical concepts while having fun. We teach skills using solfege hand signs, folk songs, games, imagination and creativity.

Presto (age 7-12)

Presto is for the beginning pianist, whether they have had a year or so of piano lessons or no piano lessons at all. Presto teaches so much more than piano! We teach COMPLETE musicianship: vocal training, ear training, sight reading, music theory, rhythm, music history, proper piano technique, and we do it in a fun, snappy style that tweens love!!

Custom Group Lessons

Are you and friends or family interested in taking group lesson together, but the group you’re wanting isn’t already available? Group lessons can be customized for any instrument with 3 or more students at a similar level. Playing music with friends is fun! Give us a call and set up your own group lessons! We can arrange just a month of group lessons, or we can make it something more long term. Tuition for these lessons is a monthly flat fee (prices listed below). On the registration form, select group lessons and provide us with additional information about your situation within the form. Get started now if you have a group ready to go. Duo Lessons

Are you and a friend or family member interested in taking duo lessons together? Then give us a call and set up your own duo lessons! This is a popular choice for siblings starting at a similar level, or for a parent learning alongside their child. We can arrange just a month of duo lessons, or we can schedule on going monthly duo lessons. Tuition for these lessons is a monthly flat fee (prices listed below). On the registration form select duo lessons and provide us with additional information about your situation within the form. Call or email our BIMEC staff at schedule.bim@gmail.com or 801-802-0625.

I'm excited to be teaching some Let's Say Aloha ukulele classes this summer! Summer is the perfect time to get your ukulele jam on! It's so much fun to sing and play together! Ukulele is so great for reviewing chords and music theory, and it also helps the students work on their voices at the same time. The first class starts on Monday, June 22nd and there's a $10 off Early Bird Discount for registering before May 15th, so get registered right away!

There are 2 children's classes available, Beginning & Intermediate:


Option #1: Beginning Let's Say Aloha Ukulele Summer Camp! (5-days)
This 5-day camp is for 7-11-year-olds who are just beginning to learn how to play. They will have a blast learning and playing together for this 5-day (MTWTF) camp!
Ages 7-11

It is highly recommended for 7-year-olds to enroll with a parent unless they have played a little ukulele already.
5-Day Class

SESSION 1: JUNE 22-26 (M-F 10:30 - 11:30am)
SESSION 2: JULY 27-31 (M-F 10:30 - 11:30am)
$100 - if you have your own ukulele & tuner already
$150 - includes 1 high quality ukulele, 1 tuner

Option #2: Intermediate Let's Say Aloha Ukulele Summer Camp! (5-days)

This Intermediate 5-day camp is for 8-13-year-olds who have been playing the basics already and are ready to take their playing up a level! They will have a blast learning and playing together for this 5-day (MTWTF) camp! (For students that can play C, F and G chords well)

Ages 8-13
8-9-year-olds should have previously taken the Let's Say Aloha Beginning Class. All students should be able to transition smoothly between C, F, and G chords).
5-Day Class

SESSION 1: JUNE 22-26 (M-F 11:30 - 12:30)

Unleash your songwriting potential with our 8-week songwriting course! In this course, you will learn how to write original lyrics, chords, and melodies to create a song from start to finish!

In BIMEC's songwriting course, you will learn the fundamentals of how to create an original song from start to finish. The secrets to creating a catchy melody, pleasing chords, and distinctive lyrics will all be unearthed. This course is designed for beginner to intermediate-level aspiring songwriters. If you have never written a song before, or have written a few and want to know more, then this is the course for you!

You will also learn tricks for generating ideas from day one, from how to create a chord progression to writing a hook, coming up with ideas for lyrics, to how to make those lyrics fit a melody, and how to fit all of it into a structure that tells a story through song.

All of this will culminate in a showcase that the class will put on at the end of the course, featuring your original song!

Two-day music theory seminars:

Learn the basics of the language of music with our two-day basic music theory seminar. Good for absolute beginners as well as those that need a refresher on the basics. Covered will be:
