BJORN SWANSON
Brass | Trombone
Bjorn Swanson is a trombonist and educator based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bjorn has performed and taught extensively throughout the states of Utah and Iowa, performing with the Wasatch Symphony, the Taylorsville Symphony Orchestra, and the Muscatine Symphony (IA), and working with ensembles in the Canyons School District, the Davis School District, the Nebo School District, and the Clear Creek Amana School District (IA).
Bjorn is also an advocate of brass chamber music, founding the Utah Chamber Brass Collective student organization at the University of Utah in the fall of 2022. Since it's founding, the Utah Chamber Brass Collective has performed multiple recitals and hosted a residency featuring the professional brass ensemble, Mirari Brass Quintet.
Bjorn received his Bachelor of Music in performance and Bachelor of Arts in music education from the University of Iowa in 2020, and his Master's of Music in instrumental performance from the University of Utah in 2023. His primary instructors are Dr. Jonathan Allen, Dr. Donn Schaefer, and Mark Davidson.
